Célestine striped shirt
It's a formal shirt from which I wanted to remove that somewhat formal side that dress shirts often have. This is why, instead of taking the usual French collar, I opted for the American collar which is much more flexible: whether you wear it open or closed, with or without a tie, it always looks chic. So the Célestine shirt can be worn however you want, at the office or on the weekend.
I cut this Célestine shirt from a superb and luxurious fabric, a blend of cotton and linen. It was woven in seersucker, which will protect us from the summer heat. The bluish-gray stripes are not very pronounced, on the contrary, they are blended into each other so that the pattern is very soft. Everything is there to make this shirt a beautiful, subtly original piece.

To make seersucker, we alternately weave the fabric with tight threads then with loose threads. We thus obtain a succession of smooth strips, woven with taut threads, and embossed strips, woven with loose threads. The latter have a slight extra thickness and an embossed appearance. They are what prevent the fabric from sticking to the skin and allow some fresh air to pass through.

Furthermore, seersucker has a second benefit, this one of an artistic nature: to mark the alternation of strips of smooth and embossed fabric, manufacturers often use threads of different colors. They thus result in a striped fabric, often with strong contrast, widely used for shirts.

Fortunately the creator of the fabric for the Célestine shirt made a different choice. To color his stripes of the fabric he took two shades of bluish gray and melted them imperceptibly into each other, to obtain, in the end, a pattern and a color of great softness.

Another mark of luxury, the weight of the material; here it is 185 grams per m² which guarantees good hold and a beautiful fall. Finally, the buttons are mother-of-pearl.
